Birthday Pie & Cake

I am not fond of eating cake, so I told hubby that I don't want any cake on my birthday. He listened to me and did not buy one but Rylie scolded him lol. She said "Dad, there's no decoration, no cake, no nothing, it's BORING!"

It was my fault because I did not take consideration of how kids feel whenever there's birthday. For them, cake is one of the essentials to celebrate ones birthday. But anyhow, we visited my FIL during the afternoon of my birthday, there's a coconut pie there. I took a slice and put candles in it so Rylie would be satisfied lol.
During our family day (Sunday), hubby went to the store and bought a cake since Rylie wouldn't light up with the idea that I gotta have cake.. Period!

Me and Chris blew the candles together since we shared the same birthday month.

So there, my dear darling princess, your wish came true hehehe.

Just remember....

that a little bit of this
and a little dash of that
makes a sumptuous life...

Belated happy birthday! Never i had a bday cake when celebrating in Pinas. But when i was in China a bday is sad and blue without a cake - di lang isang layer pwede multiple layers kc they are just sooo affordable. May crown pa. :)

Am sure the kids did love the cake. This brought to mind my daughter's birthday signature - balloons! Akala nya pag may balloons merong birthday. hehehe Kids are really kids. I wish they are just going to be kids in size and thoughts forever.

I'm not fun either, specially if it's too sweet.. here in Taiwans, cakes are not sweet, so when I brought some in the Philippines, they said it's not sweet and their not use to that..
Happy weekend!

Happy Birthday! Very creative cake huh?

The cake thing on birthday is very true for kids. My daughter also requested for a cake during her birthday.

Minsan tayong mga magulang ay too practical for comfort until our kids jolt us out of our practicality. You have your point but Rylie and probably EJ have their own points too. To kids, a birthday is not complete without a birthday cake to blow candles. Good thing John saved the situation and bought you a birthday cake so that everybody became happy, lol. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
