Cheerio and Oatmeal Heart Treats

I am not fond of eating cereals but my kids and husband  do.  This popular American  breakfast cereal brand is a favorite among the households.  We always have this in our ki-tchen although the kids does not eat this for breakfast, they  make use of it as an after-school snack sometimes.
I thought of mking some treats with this and added some oatmeal with it.  Here's a simple recipe:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 cup marshmallows
  • 1 cup cheerios
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
Melt the butter in a medium pan. Then add the marshmallows.  Mixed the two together and then add the  cheerios and oatmeal.  Mixed it all up and turned off the  heat.  Wait for it to cool down and mold it the way you want it.  I used my heartshapped  bento mild and it turned out really great.

According to Wikipedia, Cherrios was introduced in May 1, 1941.  It was originally called CheeriOats but was changed into Cheerios  on 1945.
I mentioned that I am not fond of cereal but I ate  these treats because it was delicious!

I love healthy snack options because I don't feel guilty about snacking in between meals. I love the idea! Thanks for sharing,
