Valentine Meals at Home

Here's our Valentine  meals at home.  We don't usually go out because it is expensive and it's not worth the hassle since restaurants are always crowded during this type of special occasion.  Our two kids doesn't really eat much in restaurant so why pay if you can just make something simple and yet delicious at home.
Our breakfast is  hash potatoes with spam and bell peppers topped with cheese.  Eggs is always part of our breakfasts and a serving of fruit is a must for every meal.
Since it was Valentine's day, I molded the hash potatoes into  hearts using my  heart-shaped cookie cutters.  The kids thought it's so cool!
Two serving of heart-shaped  has potaoes for the man of the house.
I love hot sauce on everything, except  dessert  of course.  I think I am addicted to spicy food because I can't eat without peppers or hot sauce at home.  My father used to be like that so I  got that from him.
For dinner, we had  baked fish, fried rice, and steamed of the mixed veggies.
I would say that dining out is fun but super expensive.  We do it once in a while but not a lot, just on few occasions.
How about you, what did you guys had during Valentine's day?  Did you go out with your love ones?

We stayed in this Valentine's Day. I was ill and had been trying to get over pneumonia at the time. I like to out sometimes but I also love to cook and stay in. A cozy meal and movie at home is just fun to me.

I agree, eating out on Valentine's Day is super expensive and usually not work it. I prefer to cook at home or do take out.

That all looks really good. I'm not sure what we had on Valentine's Day but we didn't go out to eat. Way too expensive and crowded.

It's definitely a great idea to skip out on the restaurants on V- Day. That's a great idea to use a cookie cuter to mold the potatoes.

This is the perfect example of how taking a little extra time to add a garnish or decorate a plate can make such a big difference in a meal. Great job!

How cute! My husband and I normally avoid going out for dinner on the actual day since the restaurants are usually jam packed, but we went out for dinner that day.

I love Franks Red Hot and Sriracha sauce. Yum. Hubs and I went up north for Valentines and we ended up getting snowed in.

That is absolutely adorable! Love the details and love decor you put. It is true that restaurants are extremely packed on V-Day and sometimes the thought of spending time together become more stressful. Love that you prepared your special meal! :)

I don't eat out for Valentine's day either. It could get too expensive for a nice meal. I prefer something intimate at home.

we celebrated Valentine's Day this year couple days early to avoid the rush and ended up going to the restaurant where we had our very first date. It was nice and quiet and romantic considering it was middle of the week. Then on actual Valentine's Day we just stayed in and watched movies at home.
