Nutty Chocolate - P365 # 118

The reason I am not fond of chocolate is its richness. However, I eat and preferred those with nuts in them. Hubby and I were surprised about this Anderson Candy that we ordered through my daughter's school because they are good. Some has jelly filling and some are different kinds of nut.  That's the chocolate I like!
April 30, 2011:
  • Do you  realize that you go to sleep tonight, you will wake up the next month?  Yes, because today is the last day of the month, so tomorrow  will be  a new month.
  • This is a quick update before I log off.  We are going to the hospital today to visit my brother-in-law.  His condition is not getting better.  The cancer has already spread in his liver and he doesn't want to go into anymore surgery.  My heart is crying for him and his family.  Please continue to pray for us friends.

  • Hope you guys have a god weekend.

Cotton Candy - P365 # 117

I love cotton candy when I was a kid, although Mama would only buy me this treat once in a blue moon hehehe. We bought the kids a small container last Easter and I ended up eating it all. They did not like it. Hmmmnnn, that's unsual for sweet tooth like my children to decline cotton candy lol.
April 29, 2011:
  • Ms. Burrito was worried this morning, she have a spelling test today but I told her that she is going to do just fine.
  • Hubby went to Pittsburgh with a friend to attend to this annual gun  fair.  I asked him to get me some shrimp at the oriental store but  he wasn't sure as he is just riding with Tom.
  •  Earlier, I feel like my lungs will collapse but I did not tell hubby as I don't want him to worry.  I still have the pain right now but not too much.
  • Anyhow, I just have one question before you go.  Have you ever tried to design a t-shirt?  My sister-in-law gave my husband a personalized shirt when our daughter was born.  He still wears it until now, it has me and my daughter's picture in front.  I am planning a project this summer for the  spray paint that I won online.

Thank you for dropping by and happy weekend to y'all!

Beef Steak and Broccoli - P365 # 116

This is what we had for dinner last Saturday. I steamed a bag of Bird's Eye broccoli.  I was disappointed that most of the content of the bag is stem rather than florets.
April 28, 2011:
  • It's a busy day for us today.
  • Hubby  made French Toast for the kids and I made some eggs and sausage for us.
  • I started doing laundry as soon as our student left (I am on my last load).  Will be in the folding mode  after this post.
  • Hubby  installed the fan at the attic when he returned from Ms. Burrito's school.
  • He also  replaced the battery of the truck and cleaned up the garage a little bit.
  • I made some giniling for lunch.
  • Am sure that when Ms. Burrito gets home, we'll probably go somewhere so I am now doing my research on Lodge Holidays.  Don't ask me why, I just need to lol.  Kidding aside, I am stressed out lately so I am dying for  a getaway.

Oranges - P365 # 116

Orange is one of the usual fruit that you will see in our kitchen table. We all love it.
April 27, 2011:
  • After making breakfast, I vacuumed the floor then we ate.  Having a dog inside the house is a constant job.  You have to clean the floor every other day or so or else you will end up having a carpet full of dog hair.
  • It's almost noon and I still haven't start cooking lunch yet wahhh.  Am trying to finish the online tasks so that when daughter gets off from school and they decided to  go somewhere, I am done with the tasks.
  • Alrighty folks, thank you so much for dropping by and for leaving your thoughts.

Strawberry & Toothpick - P365 # 115

To make fruit and veggies a fun food to eat for the kids, be creative! Use anything that could enhance their appetite and make them wanna eat it.  Strawberry is one of my Burrito's fruit to eat, to make it more appetizing, I used toothpicks for them to hold on to while eating it.
They love it that way.
When I used to just slice it and put it in the plate, they would only eat half of it but when I started using toothpick, they find it so much fun!

Here's the evidence.
April 26, 2011:

  • Today is my husband's last day in school.  Technically, he was done last week but one of the instructors gave them more time to study so they had their exam today.
  • Yesterday was fun for me and Ms. Burrito, she made  egg salad with Pap's help and I made some devilled eggs.
  • I am getting frustrated getting hold of my family in the Philippines.  I kept texting my sister but she isn't responding, makes me worried like heck.  I was  missing Mama since the other day and would like to talk to her but to no avail, I couldn't.
  • Oh well, I will read the zoloft lawsuits  article for a while so that I would forget my worries about my family.
Thanks for dropping by and for  following friends!

Fish Sandwich - P365 # 114

Fish sandwich that my husband bought at Long John Silver's as observation for Fish Fridays during the Lent season.
April 25, 2011:
  • I finally get the time to update here.  To relieve the stress we had this morning  due to my BIL's surgery, we went and took the kids to the Starvaggi park.
  • Thanks everyone for your prayers.  My BIL's son called us  a while ago after the surgery was done, he said that it wen't fine although his Dad isn't awake yet.  We still have to wait for his call when Dave wakes up.  Oh thanks God, that was a big relief for all of us.
  • Yesterday was the uncomfortable and sad celebration for us, everyone (except the kids) were worried about Dave.
  • We brought the boiled eggs at Dad's and made some egg salad and devilled eggs.  Will post it next time.
Again, in behalf of our family, thank you for your prayers!

Almond Joy - P365 # 113

Once in a while, I crave for something sweet. I saw this Almond Joy milk chocolate with coconut and almond in it so I grabbed one at the counter.
Mr. K who is a certified  sweet tooth, love it too.
April 24, 2011:
  • We bought some treats for the kids  for their Easter basket last night.  We  decided to just  buy  the things that they want instead of buying an Easter basket.  It's way cheaper and you get to pick what you buy, wise decision for parents.
  • I made us  fried rice, bacon, and egg for breakfast.
  • I am doing laundry right now and hubby is working out.
  • We will go to church at noon.
  • Kids are enjoying their Easter treat.  We got them mind games.
  • Alrighty folks, this is just a quick update, I have to canvas printed or the new photos I took.  I have to buy  photo albums too as I ordered a bunch of photo prints  a couple of months ago.
Enjoy your Easter everyone!

Trio Dinner - P365 # 112

Whenever my husband prepares dinner, it always includes this trio combo, pork chop, mashed potatoes, and  mac and cheese.
April 24, 2011:
  • Hubby made us breakfast again today, yay!  Thanks hon!
  • He is now doing his practice test for the calculus.
  • We might go to Dad today.

Here wishing you a happy Easter friends.  Take care!

Adblock

Social networks like twitter, friendster, and Facebook is a great channel for us to reach out and connect to others. However, in every positive side, there is a downside to it. Let's take a closer look at Facebook. Facebook has button that tracks down users so you are pretty much expose.  Don't fret because you can Block Facebook with Chrome Adblock so if you want to do that, just visit the link provided and you will be able to solve the problem.  My husband  used to have a facebook account but  he decided to  delete it because of some personal reason.

Barbecue Corned Beef - P365 # 112

I mentioned in my previous post that I would be cooking the last can of corned beef I have in my Lazy Susan. THe corned beef is barbecue flavored and we liked it.
I just add some napa cabbage, scallions, tomatoes, and onions and voila, instant  lunch na weeeee.  It's nice to have these in your kitchen cabinet because if you get short of time to cook, you can just whipped this up in minutes!
April 22, 2011:
  • Hubby and daughter worked out  in our  fitness area at the basement this morning.
  • We had fried rice for breakfast and  French toast for dessert.
  • Hubby boiled the eggs for us to color.  We will actually bring it to Dad after I post this one so we could paint it there while visiting.
  • I know, I should be off  from my online gig but I can't lol.. I really need a blogging rehab lol.
Alrighty friends, hope you have a Good Friday and  a safe Easter celebration!

Cravings - P365 # 111

My husband was craving for some mexican food the other day so I told him to just order it for take out. It was way cheaper than eating over there. When we ate there, it cost $35 for the four of us but with the take out (the same order minus the drink), it was only $21.

He came home wit four containers full of food.
He ordered a tilapia cancun ( I loved it).  The fish and the veggies we cooked, grilled style, it was delicious.
He ordered  a Fiesta Plato which they put in two separate containers.
I dunno why but I like the food this time than the first time we ate there.
My daughter and I love the tilapia cancun so much.
April 21, 2011:
  • Oh thank God, I got time to open my  blogs hehehe.
  • I woke up with a migraine, took some meds, ate breakfast, took shower and we left.
  • We went to Robinson & Son Construction to deal with the renovation of our porch.  Closed the deal, made our  initial payment (there goes our  income tax return down the drain lol).  Oh well, life is like a wheel right?
  • We ate pizza for lunch and now I am ready to rock the blogland, yeah right lol.  I am actually sleepy right now, I am just forcing myself to blog as I have tasks to write.
Have a safe Good Friday everyone and happy Easter!

Necklace Candy - P365 # 110

A small treat that delights someone's sweet tooth.  When you have  tots like me who love sweet, you definitely want to bring  some of these treats  with your camping supplies because it will give them some to chew when they get bored hehehe.
April 20, 2011:

  • We all woke up at the same time today.  Hubby  made some french toast for breakfast, thanks Hon.
  • He has  final exams in calculus and accounting today so he is stressed out lol.
  • Ms. Burrito will only have a half-day of school.  I'll pick her up at around 11 this morning.
  • I have a bad dysmenorrhea wahhhh.  I am still glad that it  isn't coupled with a migraine.
  • I will make black bean chicken for lunch.
  • Alrighty folks, I gotta get going.  Need to do laundry and cook.  Have a nice day!

Caldereta and Rice - P365 # 109

I forgot that I suppose to prepare fish meal last Friday, instead I cooked caldereta wahhhh.  That's what we had for lunch weekend hehehe.  I think God is saying that I am just making an excuse lol.
April 19, 2011:

Mexican Resto Display - P365 # 108

Here are some of the decorative display at a Mexican resto that we tried on St. Patrick's Day.
Even their  chairs and tables has their  restaurant name engraved in it.  Pretty cool isn't it?
April 18, 2011:

  • I woke up late  today because I snooze back after my husband turned off the alarm wahhh.
  • I was cramming preparing breakfast and their pack lunch, I made it though.. on time!
  • I just got done drinking my coffee.  Made some  bacon for our breakfast, after posting this, me and Mr. Burrito will eat.

Fried Chicken and Salad - P365 # 107

I fried some chicken legs a couple of days ago and also made some fresh salad.  This kind of menu is probably great with wine so I have to check out some of the   online wine merchants hehehe.
I don't like using breading for chicken, I like the skin to be crisp after frying it.
April 17, 2011:
  • I like weekends because I get to sleep in and hubby  cooks breakfast hehehe.  Luvya hon!
  • We are getting ready for church.  Just want to update this before we go.
  • We'll visit my FIL after the mass.
  • Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Sweet Rice - P365 # 106

Sometimes, my husband would crave for Filipino foods more than me. When he does, I have to make it because he won't stop lol.  Both hubby and daughter love sweet rice.  Do you see the light  shadow from the spoon?
I am still trying to understand why the sticky rice is called sweet rice in English.  My theory is that maybe, the sticky rice is mostly used in making sweet desserts.
The coconut milk with sugar.
Mr. Burrito is a sweet tooth but he is not fond of Filipino desserts which is  the contrary of Ms. Burrito.
I made this one with  sesame seeds.
April 16, 2011:
  • It has been raining here since last night.  The temperature  went down again so it's cold and wet outside.  Too bad we can't enjoy the weekend outside.
  • Hubby and the kids woke up early.  When I woke up at 8, hubby already made some  sausages so I cooked some rice and made  a pan of  fried rice for breakfast.
  • I just got done  vacuuming the floor.  When you have two active kids and a dog running around inside the house, you  would want to clean the floor at least twice a week.
  • I stripped off our beddings and now doing  laundry.  Some people  have the Saturday as their rest day but for us, it's the busiest.
  • After I get done with my laundry, I have to search for some Wine Glasses online.
Thanks for  dropping by everyone!

Yogurt - P365 # 105

I am no fan of yogurt but my husband is. My daughter love to eat it once in a while too. Mr. Burrito on the other hand doesn't like it at all.
Here's Ms. Burrito, being silly while eating a cup of  yogurt.
April 15, 2011:
  • Ms. Burrito has a spelling test today, goodluck  anak!  I know you will do well.
  • I did not prepare  a snack for Ms. Burrito because one of her classmates is celebrating her birthday today and her Mom is bring some snacks for the class.  Happy birthday Danille!
  • I made a sandwich  for hubby's lunch.  I loaded it with tomato slices, pepper rings, lettuce, cheese, lunch meat, and  miracle whip.  Hope you like it hon.
  • Hubby made french toast for the kids breakfast.  He has been cooking  food  for us lately.  He made us  pork chp, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese f for dinner last night.  Luvya Mr. K!
  • Today is the last day of filing taxes so don't forget to finish yours.  We spent ours already lol.

Sisig Recipe- P365 # 104

I mentioned in my previous post that I tried to make sisig, so here it is.  I found a sisig mix at an oriental store so I thought of trying it.
I used regular meat because hubby doesn't like the  parts of the pork  that is use regularly on  sisig.  It was delicious though, I made it spicy too.  Here's a  simple recipe.

  • 1 lb pork
  • Three thai peppers or any kind of  spicy chilis
  • scallion, chopped
  • 2 shallots, chopped
  • black pepper
  • a pack of sisig mix
  • 2 tbs of coconut  oil
  • 1/2 cup of water
  1. Prepare the meat.   You can boil it, fry it, or grill it.  Then sliced it into small bits.
  2. Chopped the shallots and  scallions.
  3. Pour the  sisig mix into a 1/2 cup of water to dissolve it.
  4. When all the ingredients are  done.  Heat the pan and add the coconut oil.
  5. Add the meat, cook it for  2 minutes.  Add the shallots and peppers, mix it with the meat for about a minute.
  6. Add the  dissolved  sisig mix.  Cook for another 5 minutes.  Turn off the  heat then add the scallions and sprinkle some black pepper.
  7. Add two scoops of it on top of your steamed rice and enjoy!  Left over is good for pizza topping.
April 14, 2011:

  • Hubby  drove Ms. Burrito to school then he will proceed to the Honda garage for our car maintenance check.
  • I am making bacon for breakfast. Also made a pot of tea, want some?
  • It will be warm today so  we might be out  of the house the whole time.I just got done trimming my rose bush in front of our house.   The thorns poked me so many times
  • Hubby threw the twigs in the nearby woods.
Thanks  for dropping by everyone!

Iced Tea - P365 # 103

My family loves iced tea. We consumed tea more than any kinds of beverage be it at home or dining out.  How about you?
April 13, 2011:
  • I jumped in the shower as soon as the students (hubby and  Ms. Burrito) left home.
  • Wrote some online tasks as soon as Mr. Burrito  had done eating breakfast.
  • Now I am typing while thinking of what to cook.  Maybe, I will just open a can of corned beef and cooked it with napa cabbage, what do you think?
  • We are going to attend station of the cross at church at 1:30.  Hubby might come home and skip his last class to be able to attend with us.
I thank everyone who  never gets tired of  visiting my blogs even though I couldn't bloghop for almost 4 days now.  I am just so caught up with family stuff that I have no time to visit other blogs.  Please acknowledge my deep gratitude for your time and thoughts. What a great choice for letter M!  Gorgeous!

Mango - P365 # 102

Mango is one of the most abundant fruit in a tropical country like Philippines. I was lucky when I was conceiving with my first child because I was still in my country and Mango is one of the fruits I ate a lot.  No wonder my daughter love this fruit very much.
April 12, 2011:
  • It is cold and raining here at our end.  I am glad that I was able to finish  my vegetable garden yesterday.  My body is so sore right now but it was worth it.
  • Ms. Burrito did not go to school today.  We brought her to the doctor due to her pink eye.  It's looking well now compared yesterday when she arrived from school.  My daughter seldom got sick  with her 4 years of existence but she started going to school, that's when it started arrrghh..
  • We dropped by at my FIL after the the doctor.  Hubby talked to his brother on the phone and found out that the Mass he has  from his lung is indeed a cancer.  It is the same as what my MIL got  that took her life.  Please include my BIL in your prayer.  We don't want to tell my FIL about it because we don't want him to worry and get sick too.
  • We have fried chicken and vegetable salad for  dinner today.
  • I am on my last load  of the laundry.  Hubby started this morning and I am now finishing it.
  • Hopefully I could bloghop tonight after the kids goes to bed.  Thanks everyone for your visit and comments.
