Beef Steak - P365 # 178

We grilled beef steak last Monday night. We also had boiled corn and salad. We have been eating a bowl of salad everyday from our garden. It is really nice to grow veggies in your own garden because you know that it is pesticide free and all.  The money and time  we spent  in   putting up the garden is all worth it.
June 29, 2011:

  • I had an excruciating migraine headache yesterday.  I  took meds  before I went to bed hoping that  when I woke its gone but I still have it till now wahhh.
  • I am  making some beef polska kielbasa with shredded sauerkraut.
  • I wasn't able to go with the kids and hubby to the park because the sun light is just killing me.
Thanks for  dropping by folks!

Pancit Canton with Boiled Eggs - P365 # 177

I am down to two packs of LM pancit canton, we will need to visit Asian store again soon. I always cook panton with carrots and napa cabbage then garnish it with scallions and boiled eggs. THe instant panton isn't that healthy but if you mixed it veggies, it equates it to a healthy meal (that's according to my theory lol).
June 28, 2011:
  • Wow, two more days left and June is going to bid bye bye.  Time flies!
  • It's gloomy today, the rain is planning to come down  hehehe.
  • No particular plan for today as hubby needs to go to school later on.  Wait, I still have a pending job, cleaning the windows lol.  I have been putting it off for days now wahhh.  Yeah, I know  the big L won't leave me lol.
  • BTW, before I go on and on with my blurb here, here's a link g for Self Catering Holidays if you are looking for  a place to stay during your getaway.
  • Okidoci, will  continue cooking, my bacon is sizzling now.  I will make fried rice for breakfast.
Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

Colorful Egg Shells - P365 # 176

Here's a colorful pile of egg shells that I took picture of.
I know, you would think that I'm nuts for  capturing this trash before   throwing it away.  I just love the color, that's all.
June 27, 2011:
  • Hello everyone.  I just got done vacuuming the whole house.  Now, I planned to  start with my window cleaning but  there is something at the back of my mind  not to lol.  It's my big L  factor.  Maybe, I'll do it tomorrow instead since my  husband and kids are  asking me for us to do some  hiking up at Marland Heights.
  • I am thinking of taking some time off from blogging that is why I am  slowly disappearing from  other sites.   I am just so busy  cleaning, organizing, and doing  stuff with kids outside the home.  I hope that you guys will still visit, it is greatly appreciated!
  • I chatted with my former office mate before and she told me that she is still crazy over silver jewellery for her bling and other accessories.  I used to tease her about her collection because she got so many.
  • Alrighty, my angels are now getting agitated "Mom, please let go of the keyboard, let's go" wahhhh.

Grilling

I made4 some BBQ the other day, it was delish. Ms. Burrito took a picture of me hehehe.
I am sure that grilling is not a thing that you do when you are saying in one of the hotels in york but it's so much fun to do BBQ.  I am about to grill some beef steak for dinner.

Gifts from Afar - P365 # 175

I received a package from a dear friend all the way from the Philippines, thanks a lot Ate Chay.
She sent me  two packages of laing,  different kinds of cooking mix, and shirt from the school where I used to work.  They celebrated  their golden anniversary this year and Ate Chay and Lynes are  so thoughtful to send each of us a shirt.  Thanks guys!
Here's my angels sporting their  new  shirts.
I cooked  half of the laing and gave half to a close friend here in the area who  is also a bicolana.  Ate Agnes gave me pancit bato in return, Oh I miss both of these Bicol  goodies.

June 26, 2011:
  • What a busy Sunday for me.  I finished up what I have started yesterday.  POrganizing   documents, cleaning  the basement, and rearranging stuff around the house.  I failed to  vacuum the floor but I will do it tomorrow.
  • I  took shower after filing  documents we received for so many months (I got lazy filing it monthly lol) then I cooked some pancit bato (noodles made in Bicol) and also made some toron.  Oh it was delicious!  It's been a long time since I tasted pancit bato and I miss it so much!
  • We visited my FIL after we ate then going home, we drove by power house and watch some deer leaping and running around the woods.
  • I still haven't started  cleaning the windows yet, oh I am dreading that lol.  I am eager to do it this week though.

Pineapple - P365 # 174

I found this lone pineapple at Walmart last weekend. It was only a dollar so I bought it. I let it sit for three days before I opened it up so it will ripen more.
Oh boy, when I sliced them, Zit was so sweet. What a great deal. I looked again today if they have it on sale but it was $2.590 each already lol.
June 25, 2011:

  • I wasn't able to blog  today, I got busy arranging stuff at the basement.  I wasn't able to  finish it.  I think, I  still have days before I finally  organize everything down there.
  • We went to Walmart and grabbed  some groceries.
  • We brought some stuff to cook at Dad's and we made and ate dinner there with him.  Hubby and I love to cook dinner  there because he seldom eats  heavy meal, he always eats  lights snacks.
  • Going home, we decided to  dropped by and visit  my BIL Dave for a little while.
  • Now I have a little time to browse and read about the Clifton Cruisers.
Thanks for visiting  friends, I am now off to bed.

Rice Cake - P365 # 173

I conceived with Ms. Burrito when I was still in the Philippines which gave me an opportunity to enjoy a lot of Filipino foods before I came here. No wonder she love Pinoy foods more than our son, Mr. Burrito. I do believe that what a mother eats when she's pregnant, the baby will be accustomed in eating it when the baby grow up.
Once in a while, when we go to the Asian store in Pittsburgh, I always buy a pack of rice cake mix. My daughter loves it.
What do you expect when kids are in the kitchen making something with Mommy? MESS, lol!
June 24, 2011:

  • Oh boy, I finally got the chance to update here.  I just got done folding clothes (did not put it away yet lol).  I was planning to clean windows today but I got sidetracked of doing laundry and  helping hubby put together the computer desk we got for free from my BIL.
  • I cleaned the basement and organized the kids toys which was scattered everywhere, phew.
  • We visited my FIL  a little while ago.

Father's Day Dinner 2011 - P365 # 172

Hubby and I prepared some dinner over at Dad's on Father's Day.  We drove straight to his house after attending mass at church.
Vegetable salad.
Country Style BBQ'd ribs.
I made some lumpia early that morning and  fried some of it at Dad's.  I did not fry all of it as the other family members were't there yet.  They came later.
Egg noddles.
mashed potatoes.
A simple meal we all shared at  my FIL's back porch.
We did not have a ParkersHogRoast, but the meal we  devour was awesome!
Hubby made Dad a pan of  chocolate fudge.
I wrote  the message with a toothpick lol.

June 23, 2011:

  • We visited   Dad earlier then we drove by my SIL for a quick visit.
  • t is now raining like cats and dogs over here.  I hope that it stop before my husband leaves to school, he still have a test tonight.
  • I had a bad migraine  when I went to bed last night but I did not take meds hoping that it would go away  when I woke up.  I messed up by not taking a medicine as I did not sleep  at all till three when I could take it anymore and  eventually  took two aleve pills, grrrrr.
  • I received  an expected package today but I dunno who the sender is.  It's a beautiful bag.  I still have to find out who send it lol.  Thanks anyway.

Parsley - P365 # 171

I bought a pack of parsley seeds at Busy Beaver and grow them in pots.  Considering the  price of  of herbs in the store, it's better to grow  it  in your home.  Both parsley in the pots were  planted by my Burritos.
June  22, 2011:

  • I was bummed out when I tried to upload photo this morning in my blog, it wouldn't let me.  I thought that  my quota is met again but I am only 69% of the storage I have paid for  in my Google account.  I dunno if blogger is having issues with their latest  application in uploading photo but  I found a way to  upload it anyway. I used the old version by clicking the edit html first then I turned it back on and  re-size the picture from there.
  • So with my early frustration, I  went out and did some gardening.. again.
  • I made some pancit canton for breakfast, garnished it with  carrots and napa cabbage, and top it with boiled eggs.  Sold out!
  • Okidoci, I have to read and browse the selection of nursing home furniture  online.  I haven't been to any nursing home here in the area so I kinda like want to see what furniture  do they use.

Wrapped Up Hotdog - P365 # 167

I watched a cooking show sometime last month and found a new idea to cook hotdog. Wrap it up with bacon before you grill it, it tastes yummy.
June 18, 2011:

  • I was planning to blog last night  but I was so tired that I just crawled in bed  after the kids  went to bed.  Then I woke up a little early today.
  • I need to clean the house  and do laundry today so I should be busy here pretty soon.  The kids and hubs are still snoring so I can blog a little before I cook breakfast.
  • We might go to Dad's later,  my SIL and NIL are having a yard sale  up there.
Alrighty folks, I'll do the tasks first  while waiting for my  angels to wake up.  Thanks for the visit.

Welcome - P365 # 170

Welcome is a simple word and yet always warms your heart. I felt so relieved and thankful when my family-in-law welcomed me when I first arrived here in US. I was Worried as I was travelling coming here but all those were gone when all of them Warmly welcomed me in their family.

At my FIL's home, you will see this welcome decor.
This one I took at the Vet's office.
June 21, 2011:

  • I let our bunny, Wubzy, out from his  White house  early this morning.  It's been days since he last came out because I was doing some gardening and I did not want him to nibble on my newly planted flowers.
  • According to one of the  website I have visited, today is summer solstice.  This will be the longest  day of the year.  IBT says "The Sun's angle is high before and after the summer solstice with a maximum number of daylight minutes. As the Sun begins to move lower in the sky, the length of daylight decreases, National Weather Service says."  Since it's the longest day, we have time to   learn about twin & earth.
  • I made   an omelet and rice  for breakfast.
  • Hubby have a big test tonight and he's stressed out.  To ease his stress away, he is working out at our basement.
Welcome to Spice Up Your Life everyone, enjoy your stay.

Strawberry Shortcake - P365 # 169

We bought two  boxes of strawberries a couple of days ago and also bought a pack of mini  angel cakes.  Hubby made me one strawberry shortcakes and it was delish.  We only had frozen cool whip so it's a little messy.
June 20, 2011:

  • I was planning to  bloghop  earlier but  got sidetracked with  so many stuff.  We went to Lowe's and picked up a bag of mulch and other stuff, visited my FIL, then when we came home, I got hooked gardening again.  I was able to accomplish what I want to finish in the garden though.
  • We saw a colchester bmw when we went to  the store this morning.  It's funny when we are on the road, our daughter  is always fascinated with Mustang.  At an early age, I think, it's pretty good.
  • When I got done, hubby asked me if I want to go with him at Walmart but I refused lol.  I don't have time to bloghop anymore.
Oh boy, I can't believe it is past nine pm already. It seems that time just slips away without me noticing it. We just got back from Eat'n Park, we decided to dine out as we never try that place yet. Besides, I was tired from all that gardening that I did today so hubby suggested for us to eat out. It was nice though, the food, the services, and the ambiance was great!

Baby Milkfish - P365 # 168

I am not fond of the whole milkfish but I like buying this marinated baby milkfish.
It's boneless so  even my daughter, Ms. Burrito likes to eat it with me.
I  always fry it and eat it with  salsa and rice.
If you have a  Chicago steak seasoning, you can sprinkle it before you fry it, it's so yummy!
June 19, 2011:

  • Another busy day for us.   After I cooked breakfast, I busied myself making some lumpia or egg rolls.
  • By the time, I am done with it, it's time for us to prepare and go to church.
  • We went straight to my FIL after church and cook dinner there.  I  BBQ'd  some  country style  boneless ribs,  made some egg noodles, fried some of the lumpia I made earlier, cut up some fresh veggie salad, then hubby made  some mashed potatoes.  He also made Dad a pan of   Fudge.  Will show you the pics next time.
  • Our last trip was the mall, we   gave   Daddy a little shopping spree.
How about you, how did you celebrate Father's Day?

Salad - P365 # 166

I made this salad for my snack sometime last week. I cut up some iceberg lettuce, sliced up some chicken nuggets, and put a little amount of dressing and ... burp.. Oppps.
June 17, 2011:
  • Holy Guacamole, it is now 11:31 pm and I just now had the time to blog wahhh.  My back and my hands are killing me.   My right index finger  got tore up from gardening huhuhu.   I am glad though that I am now 99% done.  I'll take a break tomorrow since I am so beat, I have been  working on my garden this week.
  • I  cannot bloghop tonight, I just want to lay down right now, the problem is I have tasks to write so  I'll suck it up lol.

Birthday Food - P365 # 165

Hubby volunteered to cook during my birthday but the water was shut off at our place so we went to Dad's after waiting for hours. It turned out, I cooked most of it hahaha.  Chicken wings.
I baked a pan of lasagna.
Hubby prepared vegetable salad.
He also made a leche flan, it was delish.  He know how to make it, I don't lol!
My niece in law also made mini cupcakes, thanks a lot Jen!
I turned 83 errrrr .. lol.
June 16, 2011:
  • I was so hooked up outside gardening that  I did not want to stop even if the sun was shining so hot hot hot.  I almost pass out due to dehydration lol.  I am just taking a break right now so I am updating this blog.  I am still not done with my gardening..
  • We visited my FIL a while a go for a brief moment.  I also checked the fotobook online.
  • Alrighty, I gotta get back to what I am doing.  Thanks for visiting.

Beef and Onion Slices - P365 # 164

My FIL was making a  beef stew  the other day when we visited him.  He asked me to brown the beef for him, I sliced some  onions and mixed it with the beef.  I like browning my  beef with onion, salt and pepper that way the meat absorbs the flavor  and it tastes good.  The stew was really good.
June 15, 2011:

  • I don't know what I got from gardening yesterday but my whole legs and arms are so itchy wahhh. They're all red and lumpy.
  • I have to continue my gardening today, I still have a lot of plants to transfer so pardon if I am not able to  visit you back friends.
  • Thanks for making breakfast hon!

Sparkling White Grape Juice - P365 # 163

My niece in law, Jen brought a bottle of sparkling white grape juice during my birthday over at Dad's.   I tried it and my verdict is...it was a little sour but sweet.  Occasions like this makes you  take  out the  Wine Glasses and just have fun.
June 14, 2011:

  • I slept until 8 am today weeee.  It's nice to be able to sleep in.
  • The mailman came early today (9:30) and handed me  a package from the Philippines.  Thanks for the birthday presents Ate Chay.  Love the laing, I would definitely cook some today.
  • I plan to do some gardening again today, I have so many plants in front of our house to transfer at the back.

Halo Halo Girl - P365 # 162

I mentioned in my previous post that Ms. Burrito love Halo Halo (it's a kind of refreshment/snack that is popular in the Philippines during summer time).  I always buy halo halo mix at the asian store whenever we go there and shop.  I used to make it for her but since she is the Ms. Independent Girl, she is prepares it now.
June 13, 2011:

  • We have water now, thanks God! Even though it's not in full force yet, I am glad to have  some.  Some part of Weirton won't have their water regulated till Thursday so we are very lucky!
  • It's weird that for a week or so, the weather here got so hot and then  yesterday it got cold again. It fells like it's Fall already.
  • I made some fired rice for breakfast today.  I am still thinking what I can prepare for lunch.  While I am thinking about it, I am also looking at the selections of apartments in fuerteventura.  No specific reason, I just love looking at those  fancy apartments.

Cakes - P365 # 161

This is the birthday cake that hubby bought for my birthday. It's a marble cake and I thought it was pretty good.
There, now you now how old I am hehehe.  Two more years and  a new chapter will begin. I can't believe I am that old because I feel like I am still in the 20s weee.  Although my appearance looks older than my age,  I feel younger hehehe.
This is the cake that the kindergarten had during their closing party.
June 12, 2011:
  • It's been 3 days that we don't have water and it's  agonizing.  Our are was the one that lost the water supply first and now we are the last that doesn't have it yet.  Most  part of the town has water  already but us.  We went to my niece in law to take shower last night and also refilled  the water for our bathrooms.  Please dear Lord, let us have water today...
  • I need to do laundry, wash dishes, and cook but I can't.  It sucks not having water, I feel like we live in a very isolated place in Mars wahhh.  Oh well, I better read about this asset labels before I lose my mind completely lol.
  • We are going to church at noon and go to Dad's afterwards.  I might do my laundry over there if our water doesn't comeback yet.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone!
