Thanksgiving at Home

My husband and I decided to start our family tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving at home. This is our very first time as we always celebrates the holiday with the whole family. It was also my first time  preparing different  Thanksgiving menu that I learned from my in-laws.  Me and daughter made  green bean casserole,  macaroni salad, baked beans, ham, scalloped potatoes, store bought and ready to bake garlic bread, and hubby bought pumpkin pie.

I made several menus so I would know which one we like the most and  eliminate the ones that we  did not  like very much.  Next year, I will just prepare a couple of these since  we don't really eat that much anyway.

We stuck with the usual - a (fresh) turkey roasted perfectly; homemade cranberries; homemade sausage stuffing; bread maker fresh bread; gravy, perfect with , mill the drippings; mashed potatoes made with half-and-half, sour cream, butter. Great eating.

Of course, the best part of Thanksgiving is having the family there and being thankful to live in a free country together. The food is one thing, the family the greatest part!

I think it is nice to stay at home and have a family tradition for the younger generation. I had mine in the woods on a picnic table this year.

Ay naku sis, the pictures and descriptions alone make me salivate :) I can imagine your table spread already for Thanksgiving!

I wish we celebrate Thanksgiving here so I can "attempt" to cook nice dishes for the whole family. Why attempt? Well, I don't have the knack in cooking. It's such an effort for me to actually prepare one meal...hahaha
