Mango and Strawberry

My Burritos  has their own preferences with fruits if given a choice.  Ms. Burrito  prefers Mango over  strawberry  and the Mister  is the opposite.  However, Ms. Burrito would eat strawberry if mango isn't available but Mr. Burrito isn't fond of mangoes.

April 29-30, 2012:
  • We visited my FIL after church yesterday then we  went to the  marland heights  park before we went home.
  • We went to DMV today, I planned to renew my driver's license  even if  I still have until next year before it expires.  The address on my  card is the former address that we have so it conflicts  the  new home address that we have.  I did not  accomplish it though because they have a new set of requirements that I have to  submit so maybe I'll comeback sometime this week.
  • I am down to the last load of doing laundry.
  • Hubby and the kids are having their night time walk, I did not go as I want to get done with the laundry before bed time.
  • We visited FIL this morning after our DMV trip.

Anchor Irony

DON'T BRING ME DOWN
I was browsing for  some selection of funny tshirts design and  thought that this is perfect for my husband since he was a former sailor.  Don't bring me down is just a total irony of the anchor hehehe.  I have read so many funny  designs on shirts especially when we were still overseas.  There are some that doesn't make sense which ruins the   real intent of  funny shirt.  At site where I saw this, you can find so many funny designs.

  • Hubby mowed our yard today.    I t is almost the month of May but the weather is so cold.  I tried to do some gardening today but my hand got so numb so I quit.

#CoronaRita Margarita

This post brought to you by Chili’s Grill & Bar. All opinions are 100% mine.

My very first experience of  dining at Chili's was when we were still  in South Korea.  We went to a  three-day getaway in Osan where the  Air Force base is.  Inside the  base, there was a big Chili establishment  and we  had our first night  dinner there.  It was a special  occasion for us as we celebrated  our  wedding anniversary in Osan.  What could be more special than celebrating  the occasion with  a bottle of wine right?  But with two kids in tow, my husband and I couldn't do that besides we are not really drinkers so we celebrated it with full belly.  If you are celebrating something  momentous in your life, Chili is one of the places I would recommend to eat.  They have a very good  selection of food and you can try the CoronaRita at Chili's.  CoronaRita is made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila and Coronita.  The first and last time I have ever tasted Jose Cuervo was during my college years.  My friends  teased  me because I got tipsy just for a little drink of Margarita lol.  As I have said I am not a drinker so when I do drink, just  a little  will  knock me out.  It's nice to have a drink  once in a while though, it is good for your health.  As long as you do it in moderation, it is okay.

CoronaRita sm.jpg
But anyhow,  if you are familiar with Cinco de Mayo, that would be a perfect reason to celebrate it with the CoronaRita Margarita.  I remember when we were living in South Korea,  the Navy base used to host a Cinco de Mayo celebration.  It was one event that's full of fun and  excitement.  Whatever it is that you want to celebrate, be it a graduation, a special date or a family dine out,  Chili's is great place for it.  Before I end this post, let me ask you if  what do you think personally about the combination  of  CoronaRita Margarita?  Do you see yourself trying this kind of  beverage?    Do you have a specific item that you like at Chili's?  You may leave your thoughts at the comment section of this post.
As you can see in this photo, our daughter love the Caesar Salad there.  I love their Fajita Trio very much!  I would love to  go to Chili's and  eat dinner there one of these days.

Norture and Enhance Your Love of Gardening

This post brought to you by Whitney Farms. All opinions are 100% mine.

We recently  added a little bit of curb appeal to our front  house.  We have a newly built  porch so we wanted to  put something that would compliment the porch.  We  bought some white rocks and some  plants  and  planted it in front.  I was very satisfied of what we did  especially that we only spend  a bit of money  compared to what we could have spent if we hired a professional landscaper.    I used some  plant food  in front but  I wanted to use something different at our vegetable garden at our backyard.  I haven't  done anything yet  at the back except  add some  mulch.  I don't really used  chemical based   products  for my vegetable garden but Whitney Farms® has a full line of 100% natural plant foods and organic soil  which  I like.  I have two  lovely kids, two dogs, and two bunnies so I don't want to use   anything that could harm them in anyway especially at our backyard where they frequently spend a lot of time during  wam days.  An organic plant food would be the perfect product that I could use for our vegetable garden.  According to the product description, Whitney Farms organic plant food has no manure odor  hich is great because  last year I was kinda taken a back with the  peoduct we used because it smelled like pure manure.  I want to use a different one this time so I might try this.  There is a $3 coupon off that you can get if you want to try this product  to norture and enhance your love of gardening.  Below is the  the photo of our front home.

Black Olives

My Burritos used to love  black olives for snack then they  change their liking to  fresh bell peppers specially the green and red.  I am not fond of black olives but am glad  they do because it's a cholesterol-free food and very little fat.

Fried Rice Balls

I made  these rice balls the other night for dessert.  I mixed the glutinous  flour with  yam and  jack fruit, and  milk.  Fried it in vegetable oil and rolled it into   sugar confectionery.  Every time I miss my mother, I tend to cook those foods/dessert that she always makes for us when we were growing up.  Glad hubby and the kids loves it too.

Home Improvement Projects

My husband and I have done several home improvements to our home ever since we bought this  five years ago.  The project that we  did without hiring a professional was the  project we had in the basement.  It is still undone  but it is much better  that we first bought this house.  We removed all the  old  asbestos style tiles that was laid on the floor and we put hardwood floor on the other side and tiles on the other half.  I forgot what kind of tiles we used but it wasn't glass tiles.  I have learned how to laid tiles through hubby's  instruction and he  installed the hard wood floor by  himself.  He just  watched videos on how to do those stuff   and we started from there.

I am very pleased of what  we have done so far in the basement.  My husband  built a  full bathroom at the basement which is way bigger than the bathroom we had in the main house.    We uses our basement  a lot especially  the kids when they are playing in the play area.  Hubby and I had a mini gym there that we uses a lot too.  Making our basement a livable space was awesome. We still have a lot of touches to do but we plan to  finish  and furnace it when we have extra budget again.  It was a fun project for both of us.

Anti-Inflammatory Drink

I'm always on the lookout for healthy alternatives, especially when it comes to medication for ailments.  My husband and I avoid taking medicine if at all possible, unless we absolutely need it.  That is why I'm glad I came across this new product that relieves inflammation without the harmful effects of drugs.

Nopalea contains Betalains, a rare and potent antioxidant that is scientifically proven to reduce body inflammation.  Since inflammation is usually responsible for aches and pains, this is a great way to alleviate pain and cleanse your body of unwanted toxins. This tasty health drink is made from the fruit of the Nopal cactus, which has been used for centuries by native peoples for its health benefits.  This is a great way to relieve pain and improve your health at the same time.

I've got really good news for those who are skeptical like me.  You can try Nopalea free by simply calling 1-800-203-7063, you just have to pay the shipping.  You don't have to harm your body to get rid of pain, you can get rid of pain and help your body at the same time.  Call today and get on track to a healthier you or visit nopaleaultra.com for more details.

Kids Play Makup

Some  women, make up is a regular routine that they do everyday.  They couldn't go out without  wearing one.  I am not  into makeups so I  won't know the difference of regular makeup to organic makeup.  I think that organic makeup are  made from natural  ingredients so it is gentle to your skin. My daughter is a girly girl type of  kid so she like to have her nails  painted and she also has  kids makeup  kit that her friend gave her.  I know that  it is just for fun but I don't want her to use those kind of stuff at a very young age.  Unless there is an occasion f course.

Baby Shower Invitation

I had a long talk to a friend last weekend on the phone.   She mentioned that they are planning to  have a second baby this year.  Their  first born (girl) is almost two years old and they want to have a baby boy this time.  I remember when  I found out that I was pregnant with our second child, I was a little scared because  my daughter was just nine months  old then.  But it was a blessing so even with mixed emotions, we were happy.  It turned out that our second child is a boy which completed our  planned family of two kids (a boy and a girl).  Some Filipina friends gave me a  baby shower and we got a lot of gifts.  It was actually a surprise for us because they invited us to their prayer meeting and at the end of the  event, they revealed the baby shower for us.
Baby Banner - Blue Invitations

Moving here

Guest post of the week by Brittany Booker

When I moved here I wasn’t really planning on buying a house. I obviously don’t really know the area and I thought it would make much more sense just to rent for a while but you know, this adorable little bungalow just kind of fell into my lap and there wasn’t much I could do about it rather than buy it! I’ve been here for about three months now and I love how the place is ALL MINE! I can paint it any color I want and I’ve already started working on the backyard and things like looking into texas electricity providers are totally my decision which is really nice. I’m just happy not to have a landlord anymore and be able to make my own decisions. I think it’s crucial at this ageto own a home and not worry about paying into rent because at the end of the day you’re not building up any equity that way and that’s just not okay with me! I think it’s crucial to buy.

  • We visited Dad after eating dinner.

Scrubs

When I fetched my daughter from school yesterday, the  father of one of her classmates which is a doctor, was wearing  his scrubs.    He used to be my children's  pediatrician but when we came back from from overseas, he is no longer  treating kids.  He look good with  cherokee workwear. I remember when I gave birth to my first born, my OB Gyne recommended him to us so that's where we took our kids when they were babies.

State Line Resto

There are friends and relatives who told us that the State Line Restaurant is a good and affordable place to eat. So on our way home from my husband's school, we tried it. The food and prices were alright but the big turn off for me is the smell of the cigarette. I was suffocating as we entered the place. They offered us a non-smoking area but it wasn't desirable at all. There were sack of potatoes near the table where we sit and it wasn't clean either in the room. That would probably our first and last time to eat there.
