Keep it Green with Wheat Grass

I grew up eating different kinds of vegetables. We only eat meat when one of our pigs is butchered or when there's special occasion and my father would get some of our chicken.  I did not mind it at all because I love eating vegetable and fish.  Back in the country where I came from, fresh vegetable is  very cheap so you can pretty much buy  it  in the market everyday.  I remember when my father was  still alive, we never ran out of  fresh vegetable because we always have a garden in the backyard.  I miss those local  green and leafy vegetable  that we have had. Over here, I find it hard to find the vegetables that I used to love especially the green leafy vegetable like malunggay, pechay (bokchoi), fern, and other  veggies.
I was contacted via email if I would like to try the PINES   Wheat Grass Tablets.  Have you ever heard of it?  Wheat Grass tablets are organic wheat grass, silica, and organic rice extract.  Here is the nutrition fact:
  • Potassium 2%
  • Dietary fiber 4%
  • Protien 2%
  • Vit. A (100% as beta carotene) 25%
  • Vitamin C 10%
  • Iron 4%
  • Folate 8%

In order to get the right serving of  green leafy vegetable for a day, you have to take 7 tablets.  I am not fond of  taking too many tablets but I am trying this out  to supplement my vegetable need.  The smell of the tablets is like  dried grass which reminds me when we were harvesting rice in the rice field back then.  It also remind  me of the smell of  pellets hehehe.
I would like to  thank PINES for sending me this 36 servings of Wheat Grass.  This bottle  contain 250 tablets.  If you want to try it, it cost $18.95 for a bottle.  If you are like me who likes green leafy vegetable and could not have as often as you would like to, Wheat Grass can supplement that.  As PINES have put it, Keep it Simple, Keep it Clean, Keep it Green with Wheat Grass.

I juice fresh wheat grass every day :-)

For sure the tablets are more convenient, no clean up, no mess. Hope you'll eventually adjust to it.

haha, same here Rose, we never had meat on our table unless someone's birthday :) and my father is scared of pork, he's so health conscious, so, we just have chicken ( home raised free range chicken, haha!) whenever there is brithday, i guess that was the reason why when i was young and invited to parties that have mostly meat, i go home vomiting and having cold sweat since my system not used to it, but eventually, as I grew older, slowly, constant exposure to meat does not give me that sickening reaction anymore. but still, I prefer veggies.

i have never tried this tablet, a good alternative indeed when supply of leafy green vegetable is scarce and for those who haven't acquired a taste for veggies.

I used to drink wheat grass in juice form but taking it in capsule form is better. :) Goodbye grassy aftertaste

That's what I need right now. More vegetables! However, prices of vegetables here are borderline extortion! hahaha.

Yay! Perfect tablets to chew who does not like to eat greens. My family loves veggies. We cannot live without eating them every night :-)

A convenient way to supply veggies on our systems. I think, it's better to cook fresh vegetables. This is only a supplementary kind of tabs.

this kind of vitamins is what we should take to give us the proteins and vitamins we lack as we don't see most green veggies here that cheap.

I think this is good idea especially we do not eat vegetable daily. My hubby will probably try as he is into herbs and natural food supplements

I've heard about the many benefits of wheat grass. Supplements are a good alternative because we don't usually get them from the food we eat.

I know of Wheat Grass and how you can mix it with your freshly squeezed juice and stuff like that, but never seen the ones in tablets. Must be a good supplement for our body.

This is my first time to hear about this wheat grass supplements. You are right. It is perfect for those who wants to eat leafy veggies but have no time to buy some or prepare green dishes. :)

The problem with me is I hate taking pills..it is not about the taste but the task of being reminded to take them all the time. I usually buy them but ended getting stored somewhere because I tend to forget all the time. I wonder how can I be reminded to do so.
This is a healthy option indeed!

Fresh veggies are still the best for me when it comes to cooking. For easy use, I'll prefer this supplement.

I will need something like that too to compliment my lack of vegetable in my staple. I eat veggie but not regularly when I should. Guilty!

I would like to eat more veggies too. I have tried wheat grass and the wheat grass drink and my son was like - referring to the green juice - "Yuck, what's that? Sewer Juice???" hehe They help the body thought cuz I have seen one friend who did a wheatgrass challenge (eat less, plus wheatgrass drinks and capsules) and her skin literally glowed!

Ah, the smell of the rice fields during harvesting season, I know that smell. I haven't tried wheat grass. Maybe I should. It would be a great alternative for me who loves meat more than veggies.
