Green Organic Spatulas

Ecommflash have sent me  another set of awesome wooden utensils  for review.  They sent me two spatulas this time.  One is made from birch tree solid wood while the other is made of  dark adler tree solid wood.
I love the growth ring details on the handles!
Not only that they are good  to use when I make my potato hash on the weekends but ....
they are also good in taking out  my keish eggs from the tray.
Ecommflash  makes wooden utensils  out of eco-friendly green organic trees.  I have used bamboo utensils before and I  can say and attest  that  these wooden utensils that I got from them are much better.  So if you want to  consider going green in your kitchen, choose  wooden utensils like these from Ecommflash over  other  utensils.  You may purchase these spatulas through this  link.  Thank you so much once again Ecommflash!

Complimentary Breakfast and Snack from Sheraton Hotel

Fresh cut up veggies and fruits, nuts, chips and drinks were available at the crash pad  for two days.
We were also provided complimentary breakfast at the  hotel.
Sheraton hotel's food were delicious!
I think all the stress got into Ms. Burrito that she lost four pounds during the three day trip in California.
Hubby thought he is going to gain weight as he didn't have  work out for three days but he  actually lost weight.  I gained two pounds wahhh.

Luncheon at Googleplex

Before we went to California and on the process of arranging our travels, Google informed us that only the participant and one chaperon will be able to attend the luncheon that they are serving after the workshop but upon arriving at the hotel, we were informed that all the family members can join in, that was a relief!
Although there were so many food, it was a bit chaotic because there were so many people.   I  went to the Asian corner while hubby and the kids went to the Mexican  cuisine.  It took me shortlyto et my food but it took them so long to get their's.
Nevertheless, I have nothing to say but huge compliment to Google.  They are awesome!

Google Feast

Google really took care of all the participants to Doodle4Google event if everything that we needed  throughout the duration of the 2-day event in California.  They made sure that all of us were  well-feed and they really  proved that FOOD is  so important to them.  These photos were taken during our first day.  They  served dinner  at the crash pad where the  reception was held at Sheraton Hotel.
They served  a lot of food which was really nice because  all we ate at the plane was cookie and peanuts, thanks to Delta for that.  Bringing  food to eat during our trips was always  my job but for some reason, at this particular  trip, I have forgotten to do that.  You know how expensive food is in the airport and  in the plane so we were relieved to finally  eat something good.
Ice cream for dessert.
Veggies and fruits section.
Don't they look so good?  They  were GOOD!
I love the fresh vegetables.

Will share the feast we had at the Googleplex next time.   Thanks for  dropping by and Thank you Google for  taking care  of us while we were at your turf.  It was a great experience!

Mother's Day Feast

Our 8-year old chef-wannabe cooked breakfast for us on Mother's Day.
She made  crepes for dessert filled  with fruit and whip cream.  She also prepared  fried rice, potato hash, buttered italian loaf, and some sausages.
As much as my husband would like us to  have dinner out, I did not want to do it because  restaurants are always filled during  occasion like Mother's Day.  I'd rather  cook at home that to wait in line to be served.
I made  bacon wrapped  steak, steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, and some steamed rice.
How about you Moms, how did you  celebrate your special day?

Coloring Eggs

I have many long over due posts that I neglected to do. I have been busy for the past two weeks and could not do blog postings as I normally do.  Anyway, these photos were taken during Easter when our kids  colored some eggs.  Easter won't be complete if they don't color eggs lol.
Creating different colors on egg shells just tickles these two burritos at our home.  How about you, do you  do color eggs with your kids during Easter?

Olivia’s Taste Polish Restaurant for a Memorial Day Get-Together

Memorial Day (May 26th for 2014) is one of the most meaningful holidays the United States has. Celebrated on the final Monday of the month of May every year, this important holiday has been set aside as a way for us to honor the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It’s been going on since shortly after the American Civil War, although back then it was called Decoration Day.
Sadly, many of us have been touched by the loss of a loved one who died while serving their country. It might be a parent, brother, sister, son, daughter, cousin, niece, nephew or some other relative. Or it may be a best friend or a long-time neighbor. On Memorial Day we make it a point to honor them and the sacrifice they made.

Over the years, though, Memorial Day has evolved into something more than a special time to remember our fallen men and women. Nowadays, it’s also regarded as the traditional beginning of the summer vacation season and a reason to gather family and friends for picnics, barbecues and other outdoor get-togethers. Backyards and parks throughout the country are the sites of Memorial Day gatherings whenever the weather cooperates.

But what can you do if you’re hosting a holiday gathering and it’s going to rain all day?

Well, obviously you’ll have to take it inside, out of the weather. But your home might not be big enough for everyone you’ve invited to be comfortable and relaxed while you’re celebrating. So what’s the solution? Plenty of Chicago restaurants are open during some or all of the traditional three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend, and you could have your gathering there.

Olivia’s Taste Polish Restaurant is closed on Mondays so it will be closed on Memorial Day itself. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be the perfect place to celebrate the holiday on Saturday or Sunday, though. Because Olivia’s Taste is one of the best Polish restaurants Chicago has to offer, that’s especially true if you’re Polish-American or your family or friends have ties to the old country.

You see, Olivia’s Taste Polish Restaurant is one of the friendliest and most hospitable of all the Chicago restaurants you have to choose from. The atmosphere is relaxed and your group will never feel rushed through their meal. It’s a family-friendly place too, so you don’t need to worry about young kids seeing or hearing things they shouldn’t. Best of all, the food they serve is authentic Polish cuisine and it’s all delicious. Everyone in your group will be able to find dishes that they’ll surely love.

By all means, remember and honor our fallen warriors on Memorial Day. But sometime over the holiday weekend, invite your family and friends to a get-together at one of the finest Polish restaurants Chicago offers. You’ll be happy you did, especially if it rains.
