Thanksgiving with some Gluten-Free Goodness

We used to celebrate Thanksgiving day at my father-in-law's home with the rest of the family but ever since he went to a home, we started our own family tradition of celebrating it at our own home.  There's only four of us so I only cooked an amount that the four of us can consume.  There are, however, a certain amount of different desserts.  I don't cook these American foods very often so I prepared them for Thanksgiving, so my husband could have his favorites.  I am sure he is missing them, as I always cook Filipino food on a day to day basis.
On the morning of Thanksgiving, I made us as Gluten-free, English muffin sandwiches for breakfast.  I love this English muffins from Glutino because not only they are gluten-free, it is also multi grain!
The sandwiches turn out really tasty with bacon, eggs, and lettuce.  The trick to these  muffins is  to put them in an oven toaster for   a couple of minutes  to make it softer because if you don't, it is so densed.
One thing I  quickly learned when I became part of  the Cottrill family was, they love sweets!  So every holiday, they have different kinds of dessert.
My husband and daughter  bought the carrot cake and  pumpkin pie  from the store.
I am not very fond of pumpkin pie so I made an apple pie using the gluten free pie crust mix from Glutino.

U also baked some dinner rolls.
The baked beans was really awesome with bacon in it.
But I think my favorite was the  green bean casserole.  I haven't made this dish in a long time so I kind of miss it.
We're not crazy about turkey so we bought a ham.
By 3 o'clock, all the food was done and we ate  an early  Thanksgiving dinner, just the four of us.  This was our first Thanksgiving here at the new home and glad to spend it here.
The only thing I don't like about  holidays is, even though I only cook just  a small amount for the four of us, there are still left overs.  The  good part about it is, I don't have to cook the next day lol.
We had an awesome first Thanksgiving here at home and I can't wait to celebrate Christmas here too.
Glutino went all out with their Thanksgiving  supply, these were the ones they  sent me for November.

My kids prepared these gluten free box to be given to the police here in our area.  They also made  some notes and drawings for them thanking them for their services.  With all the the bad things happening to the police worldwide, we feel like it would be great to let them know how we appreciate their job protecting our community.
Anyway, we went there  the day after Thanksgiving but the office was close so  we might  go back again  this weekend and see.

Korean Chicken BBQ Cooked in a Barbecue Wing Rack

It's amazing  how a marriage can change you.  I mentioned in my previous posts that I have never liked cooking when I was single.  It is my least favorite among all the home chores but when I got married, that All changed.  It seemed like a switched was turned on and I was a completely different person because now I love cooking.  I mean, who wouldn't, with all these   cool gadgets available for me to use just like this BBQ Wing Rack  from Cavetools.
What I love about it is that it comes with a dip pan where you can  put veggies.  The juice that  runs out from the chicken   gets absorbed  by the veggies which  makes it even  tastier.  I finally got to use it last week and the kids  were excited to see  chicken being cooked  in a different way.
I marinated the  chicken legs with the Galbi Korean BBQ sauce that I have for 30 minutes.  For the veggies, my children prepared carrots, potatoes, and mushroom.  I added  shallots, parsley, and sprinkled it with  salt and pepper.
It's so much fin to hang those chicken legs in the rack.
It's cold outside so i Baked it in the oven instead for forty minutes and the  chicken turned out really good,  The meat is so tender and the  skin just completely became crisp.
This BBQ wing rack would make a great gift for  Christmas.  If you  want to  buy it for your love ones, just go to  Amazon and use this coupon code Wing15 for 15% off  the original price or you can go directly to the  office Cavetools website and buy it from there through the link  I  provided above.

Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar

My husband said that some of his co-workers recommends  Papaya restaurant for  some awesome Asian cuisine.  So he  said that we should check it out and that we  can try it.  We went there on the day of our anniversary without checking their online info.  With our luck with things,  they  were close for an hour when we arrived. Since our son  had a  football game later on that day, we did not wait and ate at another restaurant instead.  It was a disappointing long drive but we learned our lesson not checking the  website first.
Anyway, we went back  again  after a couple of weeks but went there at  the right business hours.  The place is  quaint, I like the  Asian decors on the wall and the ambiance is okay.
The meal prices are  reasonable but I wasn't very impress of the food.  I think the only person that was impressed is my husband  just because the  sushi were good.  I must admit that the sushi were decent.
My daughter and I shared  a meal since we didn't know much  about Thai food and we did not want to order  two different things.  If I have to give  a rate of the meal I ordered, I would give it a 3 out of 5.  It was called Thai Panang curry.  I remember the  Thai Restaurant we dined at in California, that was a really good one.  This one is not so much.
Even the pork dumpling is kind of bland.  The good thing is, we tried it and now we know not to come back there anymore lol.
Anyhow, this was the  cake my daughter baked for our anniversary.

13years of being married is great.  We have been through a lot but still  strong and love each other more than we  did when we first got married.

Finding Great Deals on Dog Treats at Groupon

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% mine.
I can't believe that  November is halfway through already, time flies!  I am starting to look for   things that we can buy for our children  for Christmas, our pets included.  We have two dogs, Champ and Bolt,  and we try to  give them Christmas gifts too during the holiday season.  Believe me, they are  as excited as the  kids  when opening gifts.  We got  them some treats, toys, and a new bed last year.
We just  moved into a new home so  the expenses are piled up, I am glad that there are  products  that I can buy for less through Groupon.  Looking at the  Black Friday sneak peek at Groupon, there are certain items that I am eyeing on already.  This  bed we got our fur babies last year is getting wore out so  I will be replacing it.  I've seen one at Groupon with 63% discount and I think that it's a great one.
I would love to get them this Personalized Glass Dog-Treat Jars as they love having their treats.  They love showing their tricks to us when we have a the treats.  Champ and Bolt's favorite treat is the Beggin Strip.  Boy, when I say "Who wants some treat?", both of them  lined up in a sitting position.
Anyhow, if you are planning to go on a shopping spree for the holidays, check out Groupon Goods.  You will find lots of great deals .  I am sure that a lot of us are looking for ways where we can save money in buying  the things that we need or want.  This  holidays, saving money us easier if you use coupon or shop at  websites that offers  coupons.
So are you ready to shop and save money?

Finding a Restaurant That Serves Delicious Food

Do you enjoy dining out at a nice restaurant several times each month? If this is the case, you will want to find places that you have not eaten at yet. This is especially true if you will be visiting a city that you are not familiar with. There are many wonderful fine dining establishments that you will never find out about unless you do some investigating. The time you spend doing some research will benefit you in the long run. You will find that many of the best restaurants do not get a lot of publicity because they don't have a large promotional budget. Here is how you can go about discovering some of the best places to eat where they serve the most delicious food.

1. Make regular visits to many of the restaurant review websites.

The Internet can help food lovers to find many of the best places to eat. There are now dozens of sites that are dedicated to allowing people to post reviews of any restaurant they have eaten at. The reviews that you will be able to read on these sites can be quite detailed. They will give you a good idea about the quality of the cuisine and the service you will receive. You will find out about the various food items that are contained on the menu. The reviews are often brutally honest and do not pull any punches. This can be very beneficial for people who are looking for an honest appraisal of the food that is served at a particular fine dining establishment. The food is only one part of the overall dining experience. These customer reviews will also address issues such as the furniture, music, artwork and overall dining atmosphere that customers will encounter if they decide to have a meal at that particular restaurant. You can also start writing your own reviews and posting on various sites to benefit the dining experiences of other people.

2. Ask some people who live in the city you are visiting.

It makes sense that the people who live in a city will be aware of all the best places to eat. Therefore, you should take advantage of this valuable resource. You should ask people that you see walking down the street to tell you about their favorite restaurants. You can also visit local department stores and other businesses. Ask the people who work in these places to recommend some places to eat. You might want to specify what type of cuisine you are looking for. For example, make sure that the people you talk to are aware that you are interested in finding an Italian Restaurant in Montreal. This will prevent these people from recommending restaurants that serve cuisines that you are not a fan of.

3. Visit a travel agency.

People who work for travel agencies have a vast knowledge regarding the best places to eat in many of the world's most popular tourist destinations. It would be a good idea to take some time and visit a travel agency near your home. Talk to some of the employees who work there. Many of these people have traveled all around the world. They will be able to inform you about some of the dining hot spots that are not listed in the travel guides. Travel agents also have resources that they can use in order to help you find restaurants that serve the types of food that you prefer. It will not cost you anything to ask your local travel agents for help finding places to dine. Therefore, you have nothing to lose by doing this.

4. Read blogs that focus on food and fine dining.

There are blogs on just about every topic you can imagine. There are literally thousands of blogs that have food and fine dining as their primary focus. You will be able to gather a significant amount of info about restaurants in various cities by reading these blogs on a regular basis. You can also interact with other readers of the blog and ask them questions about specific restaurant details. You might find some bloggers who live in cities you want to visit.
