Pandesal Attempt - Project 365 #69

Good morning everyone. I have mentioned from my previous post that my kids and I tried to make pandesal (Filipino version of dinner rolls).  I pulled out a recipe online and the result wasn't like as it shown online hehehe.
Anyhow, both of my burritos are game in helping me so it was fun making it.  The end product was so densed, I think because the rising time given  on the recipe is very short (only one hour) so it didn't really rose too much.
Ms. Burrito love makapuno so we put some in other pieces, it opened up though lol but it tasted good.

The reason I don't like baking is.... every time, I do bake, I get burnt wahhh.  I am careless when it comes to  oven but it's worth  burning my skin coz we had so much fun especially the kids.
March 10, 2011:
  • We're giving Ms. Burrito to totally recuperate from her flu and pneumonia so we did not send her to school today.
  • Hubby is still sick, his shivering and complaining of body and head ache.  Oh it is much harder when  our big baby is sick hehehe.  I hope that he feels better soon because we have plans this Saturday.
  • FIL is still sick too, I feel so bad for him.
  • I just made spaghetti for lunch.
Are you up to the challenge on posting a photo a day?

If you're gonna try a recipe you found in the net or even cookbook..the outcome will always be different but you can make some adjustments in the recipe the next time you bake. :)

those pandesal looks good! :)

♥hugs♥

Hi sis Dhemz, I actually have a bread maker but I don't see how you can use it to pandesal, unless you use to rise the dough.. I never get a chance to fool with it lol..

It's really fun especially for the kids! I don't have an oven but my kids would even think of "cooking" bread even if it's just a pan.

Too bad you burnt yourself. Baking with the kids is always nice. I made banana bread with my nieces. They bailed out on the work part but showed up when it came out of the oven. I wasn't impressed after buying the ingredients and hauling them from the store on the bus myself. But, their Mother (my sister) isn't the baking/ sewing/ etc type. Likely they won't be either.

It is not easy to bake pandesal really especially if you are in the Phils and it will cost you only 2 pesos per piece. But I guess you have to try to learn the art of baking pandesal. I'm sorry to hear that both your hubby and FIL are still sick. I will pray for their divine healing. By the stripes of Jesus they are healed. Amen. Serving them spaghetti will surely make your family happy. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
