Gyro - P365 # 237

When my husband was working at MEPS in Pittsburgh, he got addicted to a Greek sandwich called Gyro.  The fried lamb meat is wrapped up in a pita bread  and topped with tomatoes.  Hubby said that the one he buys in Pittsburgh is loaded with veggies but the  Greek restaurant down here in Weirton only  puts  tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki.

  • I just got done with my home lesson session wit Mr. Burrito.  It is our fourth day and he is making a great progress.  He can almost write all of the letters in his name.  He is also familiar with the alphabet and  numbers 1-10.  I  always thought that I would have a hard time  teaching my son but  as it turn out he is good.  It is  true that when a child is ready, he would cooperate and and learn things voluntarily.
  • I am doing some laundry today and I will get my daughter from school in 50 minutes.
  • I made some maki sushi for her school lunch and  my son and I ate  the rest of the sushi I made.  I made hubby a spaghetti for his lunch.

First time I heard about that Gyro sandwich from Greece. I always love shawarma here in the Philippines which is sliced roasted beef with different fresh vegetables and spicy sauce. Great that you can prepare the lunches of both Rylie and John which they bring to their respective schools. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

How do you pronounce it there? A Greek lady, now deceased, said ghee-ro, but most people say ji-ro, which always sounds wrong to me.
