Fresh Greens from the Garden

Some fresh lettuce from our garden. This is what I like about summer, you can grow your own veggies and you can eat it fresh.

My husband taught me how to cook greens - blanching and wringing them out with a towel to remove the bitter taste, then sauteing, adding to stews and soups. Favorite: Saute spinach with olive oil, garlic, finely chopped shallot, and pour in eggs. Add feta cheese for a perfect omelet! Peace, Amy

Our garden is at last producing some vegetables as well but it is all very late this year. It is so good to have your own veg they taste so much better than from the shop. Diane
