Makizushi #A-Spice-A-Day#65

It's been a while since I made this lunch for my kids to bring to school.  They always love eating this kind of food.  This also attratct attention to other kids and even teachers as it is not common for them to see  this kind of lunch being brought in school.

I used thinly sliced cucumber, carrots, red bell pepper, bacon, and eggs to fill the maki  with rice.  IT's funny because I asked  them how many slices they could eat and they both said four but I wanted to fill the container so it won't roll around so I put six and  voila, they ate every piece!

A Spice A Day #65

  • I chatted with my niece  on Facebook and felt her sadness that she will be graduating in high school without her Dad.  My brother died 5 years ago due to a motorcycle accident and it's been hard on the kids, it's even hard for me to accept that he is gone.  I told my niece that wherever her Dad is right now, that he is watching over her and that he is happy of her accomplishment in school, which he always  has been when  he was still alive.
  • My husband  came home early as we had  our annual dental  cleaning.  It went well although I am not fond of dental visits.  We will go back in May for our second one.
  • We visited  Dad after our dental appointment.  The old man was very happy.  He said that he gets very lonely when no one is visiting him.

quite not common to bring but healthier too, sushi is quite tedious if you don't know how to make them right.
