Pecan Tarts

If there's a sweet treat that I won't get tired of, it is either pecan tarts or pecan pie. I think, because I love eating nuts that I don't mind the super sweet taste to desserts with pecan in it. How about you guys, what is your favorite dessert?

Whenever we're buying a pack of this, I am the only one who eats it lol.

Have a safe and fun weekend everyone.

Couple's Talents

The topic for this week's Couple's Corner is about talent. Hmmmnn, let's see, I think I don't qualify for this as I don't have any talent at all lol. Hubby on the other hand has quite of them. He can be a stand up comedian as he is full of humor. He can strum guitar and beat the drums ( he used to be a band member). He can draw with ease while I can't lol. Good thing the kids got that trait from him. Other than that he is pretty much skillful around the house, he is a handy man, except he hates plumbing works. Oh get this, I can sing but I don't want you to listen hahaha. Find out more talented couples through clicking the badge below.

Corn Soup

When my three angels got sick a couple of weeks ago, I made this crn soup to warm them up. They had a cold so I knew that soup would help them out. I had left over corn on a cob and a pack of corn and crab soup mix so that is what I prepared for them. I also added an egg to it.

My daughter loved it so much!

New Stand Mixer from CSN

When we were unpacking our kitchen utensils from Korea, we accidentally threw the papers where the beaters were wrapped. We just found out that it's missing when hubby wanted to bake a brownie. A couple of days after that, we found it at our street rusted because the garbage truck had it ground with their thing.

So when I told my husband that I am getting some solar garden lights from the coupon code that CSN has gave me for doing a review, he immediately suggested if we could get a new mixer. I agreed with his idea so we ordered a Sunbeam Mixmaster 12 speed Stand Mixer. The very next day of our order, we got a confirmation that CSN has shipped the item already. Yup, they are super fast.

We got this Stand Mixer for $99.99 and best of all, it was FREE shipping. It has 300 watts of power for thorough mixing. It also has 12 variable speeds for mixing versatility. The size of the stainless steel bowl is 4.0 quart which is pretty big. It has a Chrome finish with charcoal grey accent which adds style and elegance.

Other features that I like is its removable head for cleaning and storage convenience. Soft grip handle with burst of power button for an added boost of power at any speed. It also includes dough hooks, beaters and whisks for a full range of mixing and best of all, you can set it to spin which our old one doesn't have.

My husband tested it the other day and made us a cheese cake which we truly enjoyed eating while all of us chit chat at our dining room.
This is not a sponsored post guys but if you are looking for some kitchen aid for your cooking or anything that you need this summer, just visit CSN Stores. Oh before I end this post, do you know what my next project would be? We badly need a mailbox because the one that we have here is pretty beat already and some punk stole the flag in it.

Sizzling Beef

My husband was craving for some beef menu last night but I am tired of making caldereta so I tried a new menu of my own. I have a pack of beef stew meat and a pack of mushroom. I took them out, boil the beef in a beef cube and water. Then when the water dried out and the meat started to show a little fat in it, I threw in some sliced onions, steak spice, and sautéed the mushroom in it. I also cut up two big hot peppers and mixed it all up there. The outcome... Sizzling beef!
My husband loved it and I do too. I am not really fond of caldereta so I kinda tired of preparing it for him. The sizzling beef is awesome.

If you want to try it, it is so good. The finale is to top it off with scallions, yummy!

Have a safe and fun weekend everyone.

Fruit Parade

I have four kinds of fruit to consume this week. We bought this cantaloupe in Walmart last week but we never had a chance to slice it till yesterday. We brought it at my FIL as he loves this fruit too. It's very sweet. I was going to make some melon shake but our blender doesn't make fine ice anymore.

Do you like cantaloupe too? We also love honey dew melon (the green one).

These plums are from my friend Raquel's backyard, she invited us to pick her plums as it is loaded with fruits and they are just falling on the ground. So the kids and I and my SIL's family went there and picked most of them. My SIL I believe will make some jelly out of it. For me, we will just eat the ones we got. Actually, I am the only one eating them wahhh. am telling you, these plums are so sweet.

I bought a basket of peaches in the farmer's market the other day, I forgot that we were suppose to pick plums lol. I am the only one eating them too, the kids doesn't like it. It's a little bit sour.

These looks peaches too right? But they are apricots. We gave one basket of plums to our neighbor and in return, he picked his apricots in their backyard and gave it to us. Believe me, I ate all of these already as they were really good. He told us one interesting fact about this apricot, he said that this is the only kind where you can eat the nuts inside the seed and according to him, it taste like an almond. I still yet to try it, I need to dry the seeds from the sun first.

See the resemblance between the peaches and apricots. Both of their skin are fussy, the only difference is the size and when you eat the peach, its a little bit messy while the latter isn't.

Have a safe and fun weekend everyone.

Fried Green Tomatoes

We fried some green tomatoes over at my father-in-law's house the other day and it was delicious! I used the rest of the tempura I had. We ate it with pork barbecue ribs (wich I forgot to take pictures of lol).

I also fried some hot peppers and I like it more than the green tomatoes. Both tasted good though.

If you don't have tempura, you can also use an egg and bread crumbs before you fry them.

Snow Cone Maker

My daughter received a snow cone maker and other stuff from her Tita Chris Chris and Gail during her birthday. That's the first thing she aks every time we are on a break of our lessons. Our son loves snow cones too and so is Chelsea (our dog).

Pork Chop and Green Beans

This is what I prepared for dinner tonight, pork chop and green beans adobo. Hubby love the pork chop but he didn't say anything about the sitaw lol. Usually he loves the green beans adobo though.

I made this extra crunchy, I don't like green beans when it is over cooked.

Birthday Foodies

I wasn't able to shop at the oriental store last month so I did not cook Asian food for Rylie's birthday. I only made spaghetti, some fruits and veggies, and we bought fried chicken, joe-joe potatoes and some rolls at Quick King. Thanks Jen for picking it up for us, mwah!

We bought her cake at Krogers.

My friend Raquel made some pasta salad and maja blanca.

It was hot that day so the watermelon was the perfect fruit for the occasion.

This is the veggie plate I've prepared.

Tomorrow will be our princess actual birthday. She will turn five already and I can't believe how time flies so fast. She slowly starting to slip on my hands lol.

Tomatoes

I only have two tomato plants in my flower bed this year. We were on the process of putting our fence this year so I did not make a vegetable garden. Maybe next year, I would be able to. I adore my FIL's vegetable garden because the tomatoes are huge. He mixed some organic dirt on it before he planted the tomatoes which make them very healthy.

He also planted some on the side of his house as it always give lots of fruits from there. We were excited because they were big tomatoes hanging in there already which I took photos of. The following day we've visited, I came down the backyard to visit his garden again and the tomatoes were gone. We were bummed out. We think that the kids at the neighborhood picked and played with them.

The tomatoes in the fenced garden has a lot more fruits though and the kids don't bother them.

We love making fried green tomatoes. They're crunchy and yummy. Even you just put a little bread crumbs and egg, they're delicious hen fried!

Battered Zucchini & Shrimp

I bought a zucchini the last time we went to the store and planned to cook it with cheese and tomatoes but then I remember that I have a batter mix. So I pulled it out from the seller and thawed out the rest of my frozen shrimp and made some battered shrimp and zucchini.

Hubby ate some zucchini and me and my daughter gobbled up the shrimp and the rest of the zucchini.
I like this Tempura batter mix, it iis pretty god. I may have to buy a couple of this when we go to the oriental store.

I would like to give this award to all the chefs that visits this blog, thanks for your constant comment and visits.
