Crusty and Tender Gluten Free Pizza

Normally, I cook food that I crave for on my birthday but  since my husband has been working hard lately, I decided to make pizza.  I have veggies in the fridge and I harvested some spinach from our garden to add to it.  I don't like the tanginess of the pizza sauce so I made a  special sauce just for this pizza.  Here's the recipe:

For the crust:
  • entire bag of Glutino pizza crust mix
  • 11/2 cups of  warm water
  • 6 tbsp of vegetable oil
Pour mix and yeast in a large bowl. Mix for  30 seconds using a table top mixer.  Add remaining ingredients and beat 3 minutes at low speed and 1 minute at medium speed or until mix is homogenized.

For 12 inch  pizza pans, divide mix into approximately 3 portions and spread onto the pans.
I actually just divided it into two since I only have two pizza pans.
Cover pans and let rise  in a warm area for 40  minutes.  Bake for 16 to 20 minutes at 400 degrees.  I only baked them for ten minutes  before we  put our toppings.
Ingredients for Toppings:
  • 1/2 pack  ground turkey sausage, browned in  skillet
  • button mushrooms, sliced
  • bell peppers, sliced
  • Fresh spinach from  our garden
  • fresh pineapple
  • cheese
  • For the sauce, I  use ranch and  sriracha sauce instead of pizza sauce

The kiddos  did a great job  filling the pizza crust with the toppings.
Making pizza at home is fun.  It's true that it is extra work but the bonding that you get with your kids is awesome.
So here's our homemade pizza packed with veggies and  turkey sausage.
I love how the pizza crust turned ou0t.  It is better than the greasy pizza crust that you get when you eat at a pizza place.
The smells was so delicious when it got done baking.
My husband smiled when he opened the door and smell the pizza.  We seldom eat pizza these days because  we are trying to avoid  fattening foods but with this homemade pizza, it's all lean and healthy.
"Constitutional rights are fundamental.  Especially for those of us with  constitutions that outlaw gluten.  But here's a fundamental favorite that bakes up so light in texture that it defies the law of gravity."  We are what you eat.  Glutino.  Live fully!

Whoa! That looks delish! Every Sunday is pizza day in our house and because I am gluten free I feel left-out since I just do the toppings for myself in a separate dish. Now I don't have too. Can't wait to try this. Your pictures are wonderful. Thank you for sharing :)
