The 5 Healthiest and Tastiest Breakfasts EVER

People make all kinds of mistakes when it comes to breakfast. Some people don’t eat the most important meal of the day at all - big mistake if you want to have a productive day! You should eat breakfast every single day, to set you up for a hard day at work, school, even a hard day out shopping. But don’t think of breakfast as unhealthy cereals and carb loaded toast with butter - the best kind of breakfast for you is loaded with protein, slow burning energy, and tasty, whole, natural foods. Here, we present to you the 5 healthiest and tastiest breakfasts EVER! Enjoy:

Blueberry Omelette

A sweet omelette, rather than savory might seem a little strange to you, but once you try it you’ll realise how great it is! Whisk your eggs together, either pure egg whites or 1 whole egg with 2 egg whites, and then pour in a hot pan with melted coconut oil. Once the eggs have begun to set, throw in a large handful of juicy blueberries! Add as much cinnamon as you like before serving.

Porridge Oats with Honey and Berries

Porridge is a great breakfast, as it releases energy slowly and keeps us full till lunch time. Gluten free porridge is even better, as gluten is very bad for us. Simply add water to your oats and cook on the hob or microwave for a few minutes, and then top with a little honey and your choice of berries - add nuts too, if you like!

Boiled Eggs and Asparagus

Instead of the traditional ‘egg and soldiers’ meal, where you use toast for dipping, use asparagus as a tasty but healthy alternative. Simply boil your eggs as normal, timing them so they’re nice and runny. Grill your asparagus sticks until they’re al dente, then dip away!

Banana and Egg Pancakes

Pancake day is coming up, so why not make banana and egg pancakes for your healthy breakfast? You won’t believe it, but 1 banana and 2 eggs is really all you need to make it work! Mash your eggs and banana together and get rid of as many lumps as you can, then pour a small portion of the mixture into a hot pan with melted coconut oil to stop sticking. Flip once the mixture has set, and then plate up. Continue until you’ve cooked the whole mixture. Add honey, berries or nuts for a tasty topping. You can even add protein powder to the mixture before cooking if you like!

The Fruity Smoothie

The beauty of a breakfast smoothie is that you can put anything you like into the mix to create your own tasty concoction. Try adding a mixture of the following ingredients to create something special (don’t forget to have your table napkins handy in case you make a mess blending):
  • Coconut/Almond milk (avoid cow’s milk).
  • Full fat greek yoghurt (can thicken up a smoothie).
  • Ice (will make your smoothie nice and cold).
  • Hazelnuts, almonds, or brazil nuts.
  • Bananas.
  • Blueberries.
  • Raspberries.
  • Honey.
  • Oats.
  • Protein powder.
  • Kale and spinach (for extra nutrients - your smoothie will be green but delicious!).
Instead of reaching for an unhealthy bowl of cereal or a slice of boring toast, choose one of the 5 healthy, tasty breakfasts above. You can thank us later!
